Overview
Software and embedded engineering recruitment for defence and aerospace employers. The software inside aircraft, weapons, sensors and vehicles has to run in real time, on constrained hardware and often to safety or security standards. We recruit permanent and contract engineers who have built that kind of software, from bare-metal firmware to mission and safety-critical applications.
Roles We Recruit
Engineers who write software for hardware that has to work first time.
Embedded C and C++: embedded software engineers for processors, microcontrollers and real-time operating systems.
Real-Time and Safety-Critical Software: engineers with experience of standards such as DO-178C, Def Stan 00-055 and IEC 61508.
Firmware and Board Support: firmware, device driver, bootloader and board support package engineers.
FPGA and HDL: FPGA design and verification engineers working in VHDL, Verilog and SystemVerilog.
Mission and Application Software: C++, Ada, Python and Java engineers for mission systems, simulation and ground software.
Why Embedded Hiring Is Hard
Good embedded engineers sit between software and hardware, and the overlap is small. Safety-critical experience, certification standards and specific processor or RTOS knowledge narrow the pool further, and sectors such as automotive and consumer electronics compete for the same people. We agree the must-have experience with your technical leads, search across adjacent industries where the skills transfer, and check eligibility for clearance and export-controlled work early.
